Every year I like to participate in two activities, and I like to share these experiences with people who haven’t had a chance. The first of these activities is sports related. Participating in the masters is an unforgettable experience for my employees, customers and friends.
Another activity has nothing to do with sport. This is our annual experiment in Sports 1 Marketing. The experiment was designed to allow all participants to do three seemingly simple things:
Experience to give
Experience in receiving
Experience of acceptance
To do this, we split our team into groups and sent a lot of cash and instructions to the community. After a few hours, my team didn’t do anything but focus on helping other people in need.
I started this tradition eight years ago, and it’s the best thing I’ve done in years. I believe this is one of the most life-changing experiences I have ever created or participated in, which is why I must have this “experiment” every year to have my team experience it.
Why should we give it?
A lot of research has been done on the effects of giving, and the results show how important it is to a person’s emotional well-being. In biochemistry, there are several hormones and neurotransmitters that are released when you give and make you feel better. The same thing happens to people who receive it. Endorphins are released and improve everyone’s mood.
However, the most important thing I have learned is that anyone who witnesses giving and receiving experience will receive the same biochemical benefits as the giver and recipient.
Giving is contagious.
Can not only share the virus on the Internet and social media, you can open the door, carrying groceries, to help people stop to share their knowledge, money, time and food, and all the different things in sports marketing and our annual experiment 1.
Does it work?
Every year I worry about this experiment doesn’t work, because when we have more employees, our old employees have experienced the fun of this exercise, I thought, “it also can play the same role? Can it be as powerful as a lesson?”
It’s amazing to be able to give, accept and witness all these different benefits, just like I’ve been in the masters for 17 years, and every year our experiments are getting better and better. If it’s not important that you have experienced the miracle of giving (or accepting) before, then our annual experiment will never be disappointing.
Believe in hype.
I’ve led people into super bowls, professional bowls, MLB and NBA all-star games, even the World Cup, but they don’t always live up to excitement or hype. I will tell you that in addition to the masters, S1M gives, acceptance and witness experiments are more than hype, and each time it causes more hype.
What’s more important than all the emotional benefits of research is that people are more likely to give themselves when they see someone else giving them. The more they see the more they give, the more they give, because giving is contagious.
The service will never disappoint.
The most important lesson
Often give. Rich. Make sure you don’t just have a day of donations. To give full play to your potential, you must incorporate it into your daily activities. Be consistent, because the more you give, the more you get.
